Не могу поверить, что это в самом деле первое произведение Агаты Кристи – настолько оно хорошо. Я смело могу поставить его в один ряд с более поздними ее работами. На первый взгляд может показаться, что это довольно простое дело об убийстве, но потом оно запутывается в сложный клубок тайн и загадок.

Кто бы мог подумать, что я буду читать самого первого Эркюля Пуаро в оригинале! Но – да. Некоторые слова были мне неизвестны, но большинство сложных слов можно угадать по окружению. Здесь мы сталкиваемся с Пуаро, который еще не такой чудак, каким он станет. Но все равно он полон энергии.
